About Me: Curriculum Vitae

PROFILE

With over a decade of teaching experience, I pride myself on developing highly effective programmes, which support the strengths and learning needs of individual students. I receive great reward from knowing I have contributed to developing students who are confident, connected, actively involved life-long learners.
I enjoy the challenge, which comes from learning and the inner growth from stepping outside my comfort zone. I undertake projects, which require initiative, innovation and commitment, and work with the highest level of integrity.
I value honesty and act with transparency, being objective and accountable for my actions. I build sustainable relationships through open communication, effective networking and well-developed interpersonal skills.

STRENGTHS

Communication – I actively participate and contribute to develop mutually beneficial partnerships and ensure positive relationships are maintained with students, staff, parents and the community.
Culture – I am adaptable in any situation and can create caring, inclusive, non-discriminatory and cohesive work environments, where people feel accepted.
Metacognitive Skills – I can effectively teach students self-regulated learning through planning, setting goals, monitoring progress and adapting goals based on assessment data, and providing positive and constructive feedback to shift students’ learning.
Education for Sustainability – I support students to develop an appreciation for the natural environment using Place Based Learning methods and encourage them to develop innovative ways to become sustainable.
Leadership – I design school-wide programmes, which support students to develop their confidence and self-worth by supporting other students in their learning, and create opportunities to discuss leadership.
Science & STEM – I apply an inquiry and play based learning approach to support students to explore the different ways science knowledge is created and used in the world, and to develop the science capabilities in relation to sustainability, gobalisation, citizenship and enterprise.
Literacy & Numeracy– I have extensive professional development around reading, writing and mathematics. I can develop effective classroom programmes to cater for students’ individual literacy needs.
Digital Technology – I integrate technology with classroom practice to strengthen engagement by connecting students to the global world, helping them to collaborate with each other, using digital tools to develop their creativity and innovation, and introduce concepts around computational thinking.
Inquiry – I collaborate with colleagues to create inquiry-based learning units which include teaching methods to support lifelong learning and student agency.
